Meet the Director

Lauren Lindberg is an award-winning filmmaker known for her hybrid approach to storytelling. Lindberg’s career began as a teen member of Bay Area Video Coalition's Factory Youth Program in Oakland, California. In 2011, she received a Jefferson Award for Public Service, for her work in social issue documentaries. Her work has screened in over 80 national and international film festivals, including the San Francisco Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, Paley Docujam, Mill Valley, Vancouver, International Wildlife Film Festival, Sarasota Film Festival and Atlantic. She’s been featured on PBS Independent Lens. Film awards include: Best Documentary, Best Cinematographer, Best Youth Film, Filmmaker of Tomorrow, Best Editing, and Audience Choice Awards. Lindberg believes filmmaking is more than entertainment. It’s a vessel for healing, for connection, and for reimagining what’s possible in our world. Each project she takes on is an invitation: to look deeper, to question, and to step into a more expansive way of seeing ourselves and each other.

THE IMPACT

Fall of the Phoenix will bring the invisible crisis of brain injury into mainstream awareness. Our impact campaign will extend far beyond the screen: building an online Impact Hub with resources, survivor stories, and toolkits; hosting panels and webinars; and creating educational guides for schools and caregivers. Through festivals, streaming, and community screenings, we aim to dismantle stigma, spark recognition, and build lasting communities for change.
